Our Story
Most AI consulting firms are one of two things: strategy shops that have never shipped a line of production code, or dev shops that build whatever you ask without questioning whether it’s the right thing to build.
We’re neither.
Stable Mischief started because Mitch and James kept seeing the same thing from different angles: AI gives small and medium-sized businesses the power to punch above their weight. The right systems let a team of five operate like a team of fifty — moving faster, handling more, and competing with organizations ten times their size.
But most businesses couldn’t get there on their own. They needed a partner who could think clearly about where AI creates real value AND actually build the systems that deliver it.

His mission is simple: Delivering “AI for Everyone.” His career includes over two decades of rigorous Product Management, scaling high-stakes tech products from sole proprietorships to demanding Fortune 50 companies. This experience taught him one crucial lesson: how to translate complex, enterprise technology into measurable, customer-centric value.
His focus is now laser-sharp: leveling the competitive playing field. He architects sophisticated, high-leverage AI workflows and semi-autonomous agents — custom, digital employees — for small and medium-sized businesses. He uses the corporate playbook to solve everyday challenges in sales, service, and product development.
He doesn’t just talk about the technology; he builds, deploys, and scales solutions that make an immediate impact on your bottom line.
James Whitfield
Co-Founder & Strategy Lead
James is a business-first strategist who translates the complex hype of AI into practical, P&L-driven results.
His core belief: AI isn’t an “IT project”; it’s a business asset. This perspective comes from a career spent in the trenches of high-growth operations, from founding start-ups to leading large teams across 3 continents for a major international company.
It’s this hands-on experience — knowing what it takes to actually build, scale, and run a business — that shapes his work today. He knows that businesses that proactively adopt AI into their operations now will soon be the leaders of their industry, because AI is the “great equalizer”. It will enable a small business to operate competitively against their non-AI using larger competitors.
As Co-Founder at Stable Mischief, James leverages his experiences to help leaders de-risk their AI investments. He’s focused on cutting through the noise to find high-impact opportunities, build efficient systems, and give leaders the tools they need to win.

The Company
Stable Mischief, LLC is a Tennessee-based AI consulting firm and product studio. We work with businesses across industries — agriculture, finance, consulting, real estate, and beyond — to identify where AI creates leverage and then build the systems that capture it.
Our name reflects how we work. “Stable” because production systems need to be reliable, maintainable, and built to last. “Mischief” because the best solutions come from questioning assumptions, challenging conventions, and having the nerve to build something new.
